黑洞潮汐撕裂恒星事件的红外回响

报告摘要

Tidal disruption event (TDE) happens when a star approaches too close to a supermassive black hole (SMBH). If the medium in the vicinity of the BH is dusty, the primary emission of the TDE (soft X-ray, UV, optical) will be reprocessed into the infrared (IR) band. We have discovered the IR echoes of TDEs for the first time in the nearby event ASASSN-14li and more in others utilizing the public WISE data. The IR echoes are much more evident for TDEs in active galaxies than quiescent galaxies because of pre-existing torus in AGNs. The TDE IR echoes provide us a unique opportunity to probe the pc-scale dust (e.g., torus) in the galactic nuclei, which is otherwise extremely difficult to probe. Moreover, we are searching for new TDEs basing on WISE light curves and have built a large sample of candidates. Our multi-wavelength follow-up observations are very encouraging and unveil some interesting results.
